Seborrheic Dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis. It manifests as irregular erythematous plaques covered by small, non-adherent scales of different degrees of oiliness. Seborrheic dermatitis is about an excess of sebum, which causes an abnormal proliferation of a fungus usually present on the skin, responsible for the specific inflammatory response. That result in redness and accelerated renewal of scalp and skin cells. Seborrheic Dermatitis on the face and scalp is the most common, as the face and scalp are areas where sebum production occurs in greater proportion.

What causes seborrheic dermatitis?
